New Year Hat

With New Year’s just a couple hours away, I decided to create a New Year’s Hat for my son tonight.

I used the diaper from the Baby Package, bear from the Bee Hive Bears, balloons, party hat, party favor from Birthday Boy Bears all from ScrappyDew.com. I printed all layers on photo paper and hand cut them. Applied foam mounting tape to give them dimension.

The Happy New Year banner is from Mary Kobe. The 2012, I used Black Oak Font and also created a shadow layer.

The confetti on the brim is Martha Stewart Iridescent Hearts and Stars Glitter, feathers from Michaels, Black Ribbon from Michaels.

Hope you all have a great New Year!

Tag Card

I made this Tag for my little nephew, I’m going to use it for his gift card for Christmas. This little elf is so cute!

I used the Elf Kids Boy and Girl Set You get a nice variety of Elves in this set.

The tutorial I used to create this card is Here. This is a nice size tag which measures 4 1/4 x 6 inches high and uses a 12 x 12 sheet of paper to make.  I think it would look nice hanging from the tree also. You can tuck an extra little gift inside.

I applied some Glossy Accents to the eyes to make them stand out a bit. I used some red Stickles on the cuff of his hat, tassel, bow and ribbon on the gift box. I used Cotton Candy Stickles for his nose.

I used a Martha Stewart punch for the red eyelet trim. The Merry Christmas stamp is from Punkin Patch Stamps and the No Peeking Sentiment is computer generated using Vivaldi Font. The blue label is from the Silhouette Store, also applied some Royal Gems to the ends.

For my inside tag, I chalked the edges using a red and green chalk. The red pull tag is a shape I had left over from another tag project. The Gift Box Stamp is from Recollections, I used Red Dragon Embossing powder on it from Stampendous. I used some Crochet Cotton for the string of the tag.

Christmas Mice Tags

With Christmas fast approaching, I always like to keep tags on hand for adding to gift bags. I’ll purchase just plain bags and then decorate them. I made these tags using ScrappyDew’s Christmas Mice. They are so cute!

After cutting all pieces, I added flocking to ears, nose, tummy and trim on hat and tassel. You really can’t see it in the photo. I also made some berries for the wreath by welding 3 circles together in Make the Cut and adding flock to those also.

I embossed the tags, wreath and gift box. Applied some Glossy Accents to the lights. I used Scotch Foam Mounting Tape to pop the mice. Inked the tags in gold and the mice in black.

Supplies Used:

Inkssentials Glossy Accents - on Lights

Flocking - Pink, White, Burgundy

Lantern - SleddingSnowmen

Today for my project I’m going to show you a winter themed lantern I created.  I used ScrappyDew’s Sledding Snowmen  (scroll down to view all the patterns) cutting files to decorate my lantern.
Lantern pattern by Sandra’s Scrapsels, converted to cut with MTC.

This is the first side, as you can see he is winding up for a snowball fight.

This is the second side and this guy is in a race to avoid them! LOL Some additional photos.

You can see just how small I cut these snowmen and they still cut great on the Expression. I love Rob’s files because they are arranged in layers according to color and also 1 layer has the file completely put together. Which is very useful if you like to do Print n Cut’s. Just open the file, size and print. How easy is that!

some added greenery

Side view, you really can’t see from the photo but there are many layers to this lantern. You have the side of the lantern, then a vellum layer sandwiched in between the face of the lantern, a top decorator piece and then the icicle layers.

Night View

Supplies Used:

Stickles - Black for Eyes and Mouth, WinterFall, StarDust for Snowballs, Icicles, Snow Mound 2nd Side

CuttleBug Embossing Folder - Swirls

White CardStock

Scotch Mounting Tape

DCWV - Silver CardStock

DCWV - Neutrals Grey for Lantern

Paper Company - Clear Translucent Sheets AcMoores

Flameless Candles - Dollar Store

Orange Colored Pencil - Nose

Ink - Black for Lantern, Blue for Snowmen

Offray Spool O Ribbon

Bazzill CardStock for Greenery

I think that’s about it, LOL Thank you for looking.

My "Tricked Out" Coffin

Today I’m going to share another Halloween project I completed. I have been wanting to make a coffin for some time now.

I started out with a purchased box from Micheal’s and painted it black.  I cut 2 flourishes out and added red Stickles to them and set aside to dry. Next I worked on my Rosette Flower. I cut the Rosette, and a scallop circle. I had some extra webbing around the house since I had been decorating and hot glued it to the Rosette. I attached my scalloped circle and applied some Ranger Liquid Pearls and set aside to dry. I added some Stickles to the roses and worked on the little spiders next. They were also a left over decoration and I was wondering what I could add to them, so I put some little rhinestones on them.

While all that was drying I started on the inside. I cut my Little Vampire from the Halloween Palz
and assembled him. I chalked him but you can’t see it in the photo. Once assembled, I added some Stickles to the cape and then to his hair and set aside to dry. I cut the spider and the bat from the Cuttlebug Dies. I added some Stickles to them also and set aside. I glued some webbing to the inside of the coffin.

The Eat Drink sentiment is cut from the DCWV Midnight Spell Stack. I used pop dots and applied it to the inside of the coffin. My spider finally dried about 1 hour later and I stuck him to the coffin with a pop dot, and then added some additional webbing. I glued the bat to the inside of the coffin, added a spider, then I made a brace for the vampire and attached it to him and hot glued it to the inside of the coffin. Before attaching him I did his face.

I applied some ribbon to the bottom part of the coffin using double sided tape. Next, I finished the Rosette by attaching the roses and the spiders, then hot gluing it to the top of the coffin.

The Vampire is suppose to be holding a bat, but because he is only 2
inches tall my Expression would not cut the bat properly. :(

Halloween Palz Treat Box

I created this Witch Hat Treat box using the Cat from the Halloween Palz set Here. I really love all the additional layers so you can make the cat 3D by adding some pop dots. There is a nice variety of files included in this set so you can create many different projects.

I did not tie my ribbon for now because I’m going to fill the box with treats, and I wanted the ribbon to look nice for whoever I give it to. If I had tied it and then untied it, it would have been wrinkled. My son wanted to help and I let him put some whiskers on the one cat. :)

I created this box from a tutorial by Dania Welch  Some additional photos.

I stamped the orange triangle and brim with stamps from Inkadinkado, Creepy Crawlers. I used some Stickles on the cats hat, eyes and the green buckle.

Supply List
Stickles - Lime Green and Yellow
DCWV Paper Stack Midnight Spell
MS Ink
MS Halloween Paper Stack - I cut out shapes for the tags
Scrap Cardstock
Bazzill Black Card Stock

I made a cutting file from the tutorial for the treat box. You can download it Here. Available in MTC and SVG formats.

Back2School NotePad Holder

My son starts back to school on wed., I wanted to make a little something for his aid. She is a very special person . While picking up some school supplies I grabbed a couple extra Post-it Notes and decided to make a note pad holder. I needed some inspiration and found a it Here

I first started out with the Back2School Digi Stamp,
I colored the bear with my colored pencils using the Gamsol Technique. I added
some Glossy Accents to the eyes and the pencil tip. I also applied some Pink
Cotton Candy Stickles to the ears, nose and eraser. But I still felt something
was missing, so I decided I was going to use Flock. I have all kinds of glue
but not something to use with the flocking. I tried the Glossy Accents and got
mixed results. It dried shinny in spots. But in the end it turned out OK. I
also used a Micro Sharpie to add some definition lines between the flocking and
then ended up doing the whole bear once the glue and flocking were dry.

I set my bear aside and created some flowers. I used a mixture of flower
files I have. I applied some Tsukineko Stain to them and once they dried I
applied some homemade Glimmer Mist using Pearl Ex Powders, a couple drops of
glue and some water in a Mini Mister. The leaf is from my stash of left over
cuttings. I believe it is from one of the cartridges, I will have to check my
handbooks to see which one. Used some Platinum Liquid Pearls in the center of
the flowers. Sprinkled some Martha Stewart Holiday Glitter, Crystal on
the rolled rose.   .

The cover is an empty Keebler Town House Flatbread box, Italian Herb to be
exact LOL. I used the stain again to add some distressing around the edges. I
cut some card stock and embossed it using one of my embossing folders. Punched
some photo corners and added a border to the inside using Martha Stewart border
punch.

Some additional photos:

Supplies:
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
Reflections Card Stock Spice Market, additional card stock
Liquid Pearls Platinum
Brown Flocking
Glossy Accents
Post-it Notes
Glimmer Mist
Tsukineko Stain Terracotta, Walnut
Martha Stewart Border Punch, Holiday Glitter Crystal
Flower cut files
Empty Town House Box
Micro Sharpie
Cotton Candy Stickles

Safari Palz Card

This is my first DT project.  I apologize for the photos, it is very dark and rainy today.

This is an action card based on a tutorial that Dena posted on her blog Here.

This card will be for my nephew for his birthday, he loves animals. I used the Safari Palz files, you can find them Here I used the Stylus on the rocks to give them a curved shape. I applied Stickles on the leaves and used an embossing folder on the crocodile. I also put a tree on the back of the card with some additional grass. This is what the back of the card looks like.

The lever on the right is what makes the monkey move up and down when the card opens and closes. The tab on the left is a support when the card is open. That does get glued to the back front of the card.

This is the front of my card. I used Porky’s Font for the sentiment and joined it to the additional front shape I created in MTC, to create a cut out effect and then cut a piece of black card stock to shadow it. I also applied Stickles to the sentiment and the snake.

You notice the monkey is in the down position when the card is closed and then moves up into the tree when the card is open.

If anyone would like the card file you can download it on my blog.
Supplies Used:

Bazzill Card Stock
Stickles
Card Stock

One Sleepy Bear

I’m still at it with the tear creations.  I was wondering if anyone has taken up my challenge to give this a try.  If you want to learn I can walk you through the steps on how I do it, but you have to leave a little love.  LOL!  :)

This ScrappyDew file is just darling for baby cards, scrapbook pages.  I was also thinking what a cute altered item this would make.  How about a little box where you can hide your dreams?  What a cute gift that would make for a little girl and a big girl too!  You can get the file here and the digi image as well.   Happy piecing!

Strawberries are in SEASON!

Here is another cute Strawbeary Faries Collection, except this time it’s a digi stamp. What I love about digis is that you can size them to any size you would like so they will work with your project. You see here I needed a very small digi to fit in the circle of this spinner card.

I colored my beary in water pencils with touches of Atyou Spica for a little fun glitter and because he wasn’t that big I filled the entire image with 3D Crystal Lacquer for added glaze and demension.
If you would like to learn how to make a spinner card you can get the instructions at my blog by clicking here.
Thank you again for stopping by and we love comments and questions, so please share the love.

Yummo, Strawberry Bears!

Hey all!
Happy summer to each and everyone of you. It’s a great day to be crafting and this week has been exceptionally well.
ScrappyDew creations has some wonderful new patterns out. If you haven’t already dropped by to check them out, do so now by clicking HERE. Sale going on right now. Hurry and check it out!

This week I worked with the oh so yummy Strawberry Bears. They are the cutest and sweetest, most delicious little things to work with.

I used dry embossing on this layout, my cuttlebug  and cuttlebug embossing folders.  Embossing is a really fun way to dress up your photo mats, tags or journaling blocks. It even adds some dimension to your layout. Fun thing is…its not that expensive and you can get your folders relatively cheap on ebay or wait for a sale at Micheal’s. I love waiting for things to go on clearance.

You know what else….Twine rocks! The twine I used I ordered off of Etsy and I love the rich red color. Just google twine or bakers twine to find what you may be interested in.

Now on to some photos of my little project. I hope it inspires you.

Strawberry Bears

What an honor and a challenge it has been for me to be a ScrappyDew Designer. I find my mind always spinning with ideas. This past week I decided to venture into a new area for me - Tear Creations. This is probably the third time I have ever attempted one of these furry critters. Oh what fun and I know I have a lot to learn and need tons of practice to perfect this craft, but it sure was fun putting together my two page layout using ScappyDew’s Strawberry Bears.

I used My Mind’s Eye Die Cut paper, which is a perfect compliment with all those cute strawberries.

I want to challenge everyone out there that hasn’t tried this technique in joining me on my learning journey. ScrappyDew’s files are so easy to work with that I had these little bears done in no time.

Please leave a comment and let us know that you stopped by!

Thank you!
