Play Time

Although I posted about adding more layers and more colors to my pages, I really like the simple look of this page.  I may end up doing a second page to go with it, because when my boys play with Daddy, it always turns into wrestlemania!  I love to watch them all play together.  I think this file is adorable!  It is Horsey Ride Daddy 2013 found here http://scrappydew.cartloom.com/shop/item/88715  And I mentioned I Loved the hair from the Father’s Day file…I used it again for my second boy!

For a belated Christmas present, The Bob got me the complete line of Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, the holders and two oak tool chests.  So of course I wanted to color an image and turn it into a birthday card.

For today’s project I have made a little gift tag to go along with a satchel that I made for a birthday present. (daughter #3 if you see this before bingo/casino/buffet act like you didn’t)  I used the ScrappyDew file called Pixies 2014.  You can mix and match and create all sorts of really cute pixies.  But first the lyrics…

~ScrappyDew file called Pixies 2014
~I used the Karin hair style from Scrap Factory program.  (if interested, you better head on over.  Right now the program is on sale!!!!
~Recollections scraps
~Zeinth Zing and Make The Cut software (another amazing program)

I needed a gift tag for the present.  This is where ScrappyDew files come in so handy.  I sized the little pixie to just under 4 inches.  I will say that the pieces are really small.  Take a look.

I saved the curly q’s to decorate the back.

So here is the complete package.

I sure do hope that she will get a kick out of this.

Next week back to the regular birthday cards and then on to St. Patricks.  Come on back and see what I come up with.
Bright blessings, Jana

From the Red Carpet

I must say, I´m an Academy Awards Show fan.
On Sunday 22, I will be sitting by my tv with my snacks just when the Red Carpet transmition begin.
I love to see all the gowns, the stunning and the ugliest.
And I love the after Fashion Police Show -I will miss Joan Rivers this year-
This week ScrappyDews project is about that.

The Diva

The “E” staff just ready for interviewing the Diva

To make this project I used “Just like mom and dad" file and "Scrappy Dudes and the Dewettes" for the microphone.
Enjoy the show!!!!

Valentine Layout

This is a new file and I think it is just adorable.  It is called Kissing Booth and it’s found here:  http://scrappydew.cartloom.com/shop/item/113038/kissing-booth-2015

I love the hair on both the boy and the girl, what cute new styles!  This file comes with a lot of different border pieces to choose from.  I didn’t stray far from what the pattern design looks like because it is so well done, it is cute just as it is.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Today I have two valentines to share.  First is the second batch of 6 and the last is the one I made for the Bob.  The set of 6 I took my time with and the one for the Bob is rather plain but filled with love.  But of course, lyrics first…

~The set of 6 used Tweet Hearts 2012 from ScrappyDew
  *I used view 1 and 3
   Recollections varigated/Motled card base
   Recollections Red + Pink Hearts
   KZ Pink Valentines Words
   Glitter paper

~The card for Bob used Science Palz from ScrappyDew
  *I used view 1,2,3 and 4
   Recollections cardstock
A whole lot of various scraps

The set of 6 cards are pretty straight forward in construction.  I have to admit that the Science Palz gave me trouble.  I ripped the boy apart a couple of times before figuring out the sequence to put him together.  But they are done!  Here are how they turned out…

Front of card

I saw this caption and thought of Bob

So thats a wrap for Valentines Day 2015.  Time to shift gears and get working on hand made birthday presents for 3 very dear to my heart friends.  I’ll post what I have made after each birthday has passed.  (have to make sure it is a surprise)

See you next week with a project that will even surprise me…I haven’t got a clue!!!

Post Holiday Howdies

If we are lucky, we have very close friends that interact in our lives.  I have been blessed with several.  One dear friend has an after holiday tradition.  She lives up north and travels south to visit friends after the holidays.  We call these visits Post Holiday Howdies.  Now in all the years we have gotten together, I have yet to be able to pay for our coffees.  So I thought that a thank you card was in order.

Here are the lyrics…

~ScrappyDew Girly Girl 2014
~Recollections 12x12 card stock
~Graphic 45 Bohemian Bazaar
    *Jasmine Nights card stock
    *Vivid Splendor card stock
    *Alphabet Stickers
~Various scraps of card stock for girl

This was such a fun one to put together.  If you have used ScrappyDew files over and over you see a pattern of assembly.  Such as the big hair has to go on first, then the arms and sleeves of the pattern.  Start noticing when you are piecing your pieces.  You will be amazed!

So here is what I designed for P (post) H (holiday) H (Howdies).

This is my friend!

Love the colors!

The letters MERCI are stickers from G45 that match the Bohemian Bazaar line.

She got a big kick out of this card and I still wasn’t able to buy the coffee this year.  There is always next year. Now coming up I have 2 posts for Valentines Day.  Another batch of cards and a special card for my darling husband Bob.  I may also be showing the upgrades to my studio. So for now, Bright Blessings, Jana

Snow Day

Last week was my sons birthday and my mind was all over the place. So for my first scheduled post…I totally forgot to post. This is not a sign of what is to come, just a sign of the way my week/month has been. Super crazy. The birthday however was a success!
So for my actual first post I have this fun winter layout. I saw these patterns and knew what I wanted to do. My boys love sledding and Scrappy Dew has a lot of great winter files that are perfect for this. I used the pattterns Snow Day 2014 found here http://scrappydew.cartloom.com/shop/item/99116and Snowman Kidz found here http://scrappydew.cartloom.com/shop/item/70053 and although I didn’t use this pattern it is similar and super cute called Winter Fun 2014 http://scrappydew.cartloom.com/shop/item/112486/winter-fun-2014

I got everything I needed from the files listed including the snowflakes and the titles! I just cut some white paper to make the hills for the snow. I love the way it turned out and I was glad the end result finally matched the image in my head :-)

Let Valentine's Day Begin

Hello, Hello, Hello! So happy you could join me today. Remember all the color red I used at Christmas? Well I told myself that I am sick of that color. Made a promise to myself that I would not use red as they main focus of my Valentines day cards. So far so good. See what you think….but first the lyrics!

~Scrappy Dew’s Turtley 2015 view #1
~Crate Paper Love Notes
~KZ Pink Valentines Words
~Make The Cut software
~Spray Adhesive
~Spooky and Emmies help

I made two different versions of the bear riding the turtle. One is a brown bear and the other is a polar bear. On each I inked the edges. I also inked all the parts for the turtle. If you haven’t worked with ScrappyDew files before, here is a bit of advice. Print out a wire frame picture (lines only no colors) of the finished file. This will give you a guide to piecing your project. Here is the first batch of Valentines for 2015.

I was just thinking that I sure do make a lot of cards. But it’s what I love. ScrappyDew makes it so easy.

Did you know that you can also transfer a wireframe image from ScrappyDew into Inkscape and make an image to color? I just learned about this and will give details in the coming weeks. My new Spectrum Noir markers are just waiting to get coloring!
So next week I have a thank you card that was for a very dear friend. Then back to more Valentines day cards.
My wish for you is a great upcoming week. Have a very safe super bowl sunday.
Bright blessings, Jana

Cristiano Ronaldo Binder

As you know, I have been working on some binders for my nephews.

This week I made a binder for Matias and he is a soccer lover.

One of his favorites teams is

"Real Madrid Futbol Club"

And the most famous player in that team is Cristiano Ronaldo.

So, I used ScrappyDew´’s Scrap Factory to make it.

The Scrap Factory is a paper doll creator that with the mix and match feature allows me to make almost any character I want.

Of course I add a soccer quote

I think this will be great for Matias soccer drawings.
Thanks for stopping by.

It's Birthday Time!

This Sunday is my daughter-in-law’s birthday.  Each year I try to come up with a new idea. This year she has developed a creative streak.  She is really into Zentangles.  So I bought her the complete set of 8 book.  (i’ve gotten her other items through-out the year)  But I needed a really great gift tag to go on top of the present.  ScrappyDew to the rescue!  Here are the lyrics…

~I used the program Scrap Factory.  I used the mix and match feature with the Community   package Doctor and hair is labeled Neil.  Accessory is Stethoscope.
~Shirt paper Deja Views Alpha Blocks.
~The dog is from the Little Yorkies ScrappyDew file.
~All paper is leftover scraps from recollections and probably other companies.

So here is what I created.

Here is the super cute gift tag.

A very pretty package!  (she’s a vet, so paw print ribbon)

Her new Zentangle books

So that’s it for this week.  Oh, almost forgot, if you hear a big shrill scream on Sunday…that would be either myself or one of my 3 daughters.  Going to the casino for brunch and bingo on Sunday.  Wish us luck!!!

Bright blessings for a wonderful and very happy week ahead!  Jana

Sun Sand Fun

I know most of you are in the middle of a hard Winter, so I want to share a little bit of Costarican sun with you.

Manzanillo National Park, Limon, Costa Rica

In Costa Rica, we´re in the middle of our Summer, our kids are on vacation and families go to our sunny beaches.

So, I think I can make a little gift for my youngest nieces and nephew.

For this project, I´m trying out for the first time, printable waterproof vinyl.

Due to it´s good reviews I chose Papillo Countouring White Waterproof Vinyl

(I bought it at Amazon)

And due to it´s great graphic quality I chose "At the beach" and "Sandbox Boy" ScrappyDew´s files to work with.

First, I worked the file on the Silhouette Studio, and I have to little advices for you:

1-When you have grouped your file and it´s ready to print, select all the image and add black lines to it.

When you do this, you are adding beautiful definition to your file.

Can you see the big difference between the file with no lines at the left and the file with black lines at the right?

2-As I was working with little kids images, I added tiny white circles to add light to the eyes.

And some blush in the cheeks with circles in pink but with transparency at 59,3

When my images were done, I printed in the vinyl and used the print and cut feature to cut it out.

And finally this is how it works out

We will see if the vinyt is really waterproof!!!!
